"Weathered Rocks at Elm Tree Cove" was originally painted in oils on an 8"x10" artist's mdf panel. The state of Maine offers an almost infinite number of sweet hidden gems of landscape, but Peaks Island seems to have been particularly blessed in that regard. This exact spot is at the end of a little dirt path called "Ocean Spray Road" that branches off Seashore Avenue just as it starts to head towards the interior of the island.
